Flower Pressing
18/04/16
There are many ways to press flowers, however I am focusing on the most simple and inexpensive method, which requires a book and some parchment paper. The guidelines for this method are simple.
For best results: Flowers picked on a dry sunny day are the best, as they don't hold any extra moisture as they would on a rainy day, and flowers picked on a hot and sunny day are more prone to fading.
Flower Pressing Using A Book:
Pressing flowers using a book is very simple, and because of the simplicity, you can go about it numerous different ways without going wrong.
1: Pick clean, blemish free flowers- Flat faced flowers tend to work the best for pressing, however, you can always take the flowers apart and reassemble them after pressing.
2: Put the flower(s) face down in a heavy book lines with parchment paper
3: Close the book and weigh it down
4: Leave the book from7 to 10 days, occasionally swapping the parchment paper with some fresh paper every few days
