Following my research into Fashion Illustrators, I have now begun looking at flowers in fashion, and artists that use both flowers and fashion photography or illustration together.

Making my own Headdress
My idea of creating a headdress came from the research I had done into people who made headdresses, but also into an artist called Anya Gallaccio, who created installations using live flowers, and left them to die as part of the installation.
The first headdress I stared to make involved threading some sticks I had taken from a bush from the area surrounding the college through a rough cut piece of scrim. While they are not secured in anyway, they are rather loose, however, that could be effective to the end result.
At the top of the scrim, I made a ring of wire that was made to fit someone, and then tied the scrim around the edge of the wire, where it was messy, and tied it with twine in an attempt to make it look neater.
Using a strand of Ivy that I had taken from the surrounding area of my college, I wrapped it around a mannequins head and tied it with a length of twine. This meant that it could be readjusted to the size of the head of the person wearing it easily. This method was basic but effective.
After looked at the materials used, I want to find some plants with an overpowering smell that I can then make into a headdress, and also to look into the symbolisms of plants.
