Further research

While doing my further research, I will be exploring and thinking about why I am looking at the fields I am as well as why they intrigue me. I will also be looking at University within these fields of exploration.
Olga Noes: Fine art http://www.olganoes.com/
Why am I interested in her work/ Style of working?:
I am interested in Olga Noes because of the style she works in. I enjoy doing portraiture, as she does, however, her drawings and paintings possess an ethereal quality about them. Within her work she likes to focus on juxtaposition: Complete opposites. By using beauty and tragedy, she creates beautiful pieces of artwork that reflect a lot of emotion.
I like her style of working because juxtaposition allows for the combination of the complete opposites to create something that flows. I myself like the combination of beauty and creepiness, and so I find this style of working enticing.

I have experimented with her style of working, and found I immensely enjoyed using different medias by layering them up to create one complete image.
Noes's artwork is never really lifelike, as she draws women who are seemingly perfect and flawless.
Tim Burton: Director and Designer http://timburton.com
Why am I interested in his work/ Style of working?:
I find Tim Burton an intriguing character, as he isn't held back by convention. He expresses himself through his artwork and complex stories. His work in stop motion and with CGI is exceptional and is renowned for it's creepy and gothic nature. His characters, I feel, possess an elegant and graceful quality. His elongated characters are seemingly dainty.
I enjoy this style of working as it allows the mind to wander, and draws you into the story using a warped take on the story with creepy characters, which also seems very ethereal and beautiful. This ties into Olga Noes as they both seem to use a form of Juxtaposition.
